Blackstone Supports USDA FNCS Launch First Drupal Website Hosted at the USDA NITC Data Center

Arlington, VA – January 31, 2012 – Blackstone Technology Group, a global IT and business consulting firm, announced today their support of Food and Nutrition and Consumer Services (FNCS) in launching the redesigned Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) website, the first Drupal application at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Information Technology Data Center (NITC).

Blackstone has been contracted to update and modernize the FNS website using Drupal 7, as well as perform on-going Operations and Maintenance (O&M). The new FNS Drupal website enhances the overall user experience and process for content editors. Specifically, it makes information more easily accessible by reducing the number of clicks it takes for a user to find information through better organization of the data. Through this process, Blackstone helped revitalize the site content and layout. In addition, the Drupal 7 dashboard helps content editors rapidly edit, update, and publish content.

Blackstone is supporting FNS with the Drupal application development and support services to the USDA FNS Production Support Services Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) that spans over five years along with Procentrix, Inc. as the prime contractor to supply development and operations support for FNS applications.

“Blackstone is happy to have partnered with USDA FNS in their first Drupal site implementation and their first site hosted at the USDA NITC Data Center,” says Jesse O’Gorman, Executive Director and Partner of Blackstone’s Federal Practice.
